As for dessert, a dessert in a jar would probably be one of the best ideas for New Year's Eve. Some fruit may no longer be available fresh, but it can be frozen and in compote. So do the beloved cherries. How about a real quick recipe that you can then decorate beautifully in no time at all? We will show you two variants, the preparation of which is the same. Only the ingredients for the decoration change a little.
Prepare dessert in a glass for New Year's Eve with this basic recipe
For 6 glasses:
- 200 g butter biscuits (light or dark depending on the decoration)
optional 50 g Butter
1 glass of cherries (sweet or sour as desired)
300 g cream cheese
50 ml milk
1 pack of bourbon vanilla sugar
200 ml whipped cream
1 Pck. Sahnesteif
50g powdered sugar
optionally 60 g almond slivers and 60 g white chocolate shavings
This is how it's prepared:
- Crush the cookies. You can do this in a sealable freezer bag and with a rolling pin, or in a blender.
- The cookie crumbs are ready to use as is, but you can enhance their flavor by melting the butter and mixing it with half of the crumbs. This is also an advantage if you want a solid base for the dessert in the glass.
- If you have chosen the butter version, divide this cookie dough between the glasses and refrigerate them for an hour.
- Drain the cherries (reserve the juice to drink later).
- In the meantime, prepare the cream. Mix milk, cream cheese and vanilla sugar.
- In a separate bowl or measuring cup, use the cream stiffener to whip the whipped cream together with the powdered sugar until stiff.
- If you have glasses in the fridge, take them out now. If you chose the version without butter, now spread a layer of crumbs on the bottom of the prepared glasses.
- Put a layer of the cream on top and then some cherries.
- Then comes another layer of biscuits, followed by cherries and cream and a final layer of crumbs (note: for the bunny, spread it in the middle and in a circle if possible to create a head).
- You can also use slivered almonds and chocolate shavings as the final layer instead.
Or how about it?with this gingerbread dessert in a glass for New Year's Eve?
Design the bunny
For the bunny you will then need a few more ingredients:

- Melt the chocolate in a water bath.
- Distribute the necessary number of white drops for the eyes (you can also make your own from melted white chocolate).
- Using a kebab skewer or toothpick, create dots with the liquid chocolate on the drops for the pupils. Let them set.
- Meanwhile, cut the marshmallows into slices.
- Insert the pig's ears into the cream, including the eyes and two marshmallow slices for the bunny cheeks. The heart becomes the nose. Complete!
