Porsche Cayenne Coupe – In 2020, the car manufacturer is swapping capacity for comfort

You might roll your eyes, but thatSuccess of the SUVPorsche Cayenne Coupe will undoubtedly be big. Or at least it won't go away so quickly. The successful 2020 models of luxury cars like the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe mean other brands will have fun too. However, Porsche is the first automaker to reveal the 2020 Cayenne Coupe. Even among the more spirited drives in its category, the Cayenne's coupé flair takes on a more practical look. At its highest point it is 20 millimeters lower than the standard Cayenne. However, its roof runs steeply downwards from there, with the rear headroom being thoroughly cut off. The car manufacturer also cuts off a significant portion of the rear loading capacity in this way.

Prosche Cayenne Coupe

To compensate for the loss of rear headroom, the rear seats in the Porsche Cayenne Coupe lower by 30 mm. Unfortunately not enough for every person, as not everyone could sit comfortably in the back of the coupe. However, for reference, there is no problem with the regular Cayenne, but then the passengers sit higher than their height suggests.

Most normal drivers won't notice the difference. However, you will certainly notice the new back seat, which has a plastic shell. This also separates the left from the right seats, meaning the SUV is now officially a four-seater. The standard Cayenne rear seat is still available as a no-cost option, but the sliding mechanism has been added in search of an extra 30mm.

Optionally, these seats feature inserts wrapped in Porsche's iconic Pepita pattern, which everyone will simply call houndstooth. The coupe therefore offers more standard features than the normal Cayenne. These include sporty options such as the PASM active suspension and the Sport Chrono package, as well as 50 cm wheels as standard.

However, step up to the Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo and you get 53cm models on all four corners, with the option to move up to a very comfortable 55cm set, which you can see on the orange car pictured here . The coupe's rear body is also 18mm wider to accommodate those massive casters.

Combine innovative design with power

A glass roof is standard, but to save weight, coupe buyers can explore a carbon fiber panel as part of a range of "lightweight sport packages." This is a bit of a curious nomenclature for a vehicle that weighs over 1950kg. However, the carbon roof and the other slight optimizations reduce the weight by around 20 kilos.

Power comes from one of two Cayenne engines, starting with the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 producing 335 hp and 450.1316 Nm of torque. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo is also equipped with a 4.0 liter V8 with two turbines and an output of 541 hp and a torque of 768.7488 Nm.

That's a lot of power, but aside from the more aggressive wheels and standard active suspension, the car shouldn't handle any differently than its regular cousin. The coupe has the exact same suspension hardware and tune, meaning it's all about the looks in this case.

And how much does the look cost? The starting price of the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe is $75,300. That's almost $10,000 more than a base Cayenne. However, remember that you are given a few choices.

The price of the Coupe Turbo starts at $130,100. However, the additional delivery of $1250 for both models should not be forgotten either. Look for these coupes in dealerships this fall and hit the posh city streets soon after.
