DIY Frozen snow globe in a mason jar

Making a snow globe isn't as complicated as you might think. You can use any glass or even plastic container for this as long as it has a lid that closes tightly. You also need suitable figurines that are smaller than the glass, but at the same time large enough to fill the snow globe. Here's everything you need:

  • Jar with screw cap
  • Frozen figures that fit into the glass
  • Hot glue or other waterproof glue
  • Glitter or matching sprinkle decorations
  • distilled water

And this is how you make the Frozen snow globe:

The first thing you should do is clean the glass and lid and remove any stickers. You will receive helpful tipsin this article.

Then glue the selected figure(s) to the inside of the screw cap and allow the glue to dry completely.

In the meantime, you can prepare the other part of your snow globe. First add the glitter to the jar. Here's the tricky part: you have to use enough glitter to create a nice effect, but not too much, otherwise you won't be able to see the figures in the snow globe.

Then fill the glass with distilled water up to the mouth of the glass. You can add baby oil or clear glue to the water to thicken the water. Read more about it below.

Now close the jar. Although it's very likely that the jar won't leak if you simply screw the lid on, you can put some hot glue in the edge of the lid just to be safe. Then screw it shut, turn the jar over and watch the snowflakes dance around Elsa, Anna and their friends.

To further embellish the DIY snow globe, you can decorate the edge of the glass lid with colorful ribbons.

Elsa can conjure snow and sculpt various things out of ice. Show off your magic in a snow globe filled with glitter. To make this beautiful snow globe with Elsa, you can simply upcycle an empty jar of nut nougat cream or jam.

The procedure is the same as in the DIY project above. To make the glitter fall more slowly when the kids shake the snow globe, you can squirt some clear glue into the water. This thickens the water and takes longer for the glitter particles to sink.

Make your own Olaf snow globe with baby oil

The friendly snowman Olaf is extremely adorable and therefore a real fan favorite. With an Olaf figurine you can quickly and easily make a pretty snow globe together with your child.

We've already explained the crafting method, but here's another trick: If you add a splash of baby oil or glycerin to the snow globe, these pretty air bubbles will form when you shake it and the "snow" won't sink too quickly, but will dance around the figurine for longer.

Easy and quick to fill with a plastic ball

It's even easier if you buy a snow globe to fill yourself and design the inside according to the child's wishes. You can find such DIY snow globe sets on the internet and they are perfect if you want to make a nice gift for children yourself.

Make a Frozen shaking glass with stickers instead of figures

Even if you don't have or don't want to buy Frozen figurines, you can make a beautiful snow globe inspired by the children's film. Stickers are also good for this.

All you should do is first cut a ring out of a plastic bottle that will fit into the pre-made jar. Stick the stickers onto this ring and seal them with clear adhesive tape so that they are not dissolved by the water. Place the ring in the jar, fill with water, glitter and baby oil and screw on the lid. That's it!

Snow globes are usually filled with liquid so that the glitter particles or snowflakes can float around the figures. If you wish, you can leave out the water and make a “dry” snow globe.

This idea is super quick and easy and you can't go wrong. As before, stick the selected figure (in this case Anna) onto the glass lid and add other elements such as Christmas trees if desired. Add glitter to the jar. For a snow globe without water, you can also use other decorations such as glittering pompoms. When everything is already in the jar, screw the lid on. Your Anna snow globe without water is now complete and ready to be enjoyed. Just shake them and let the glitter sparkle and shine. It's the perfect oneFrozen-inspired crafts for the holiday season.
