Make pine cones out of cornflakes and peanut butter
The pine cones from Kelloggs or other corn flake brands are made entirely of edible materials. In principle, you can use all dark types of corn flakes because they all have shapes that correspond to themCovering scales of the conesremember. So you need the following things if you make pine cones out of cornflakes:
For 6 cones:
- Cornflakes
- 6 pretzel sticks
- 120g peanut butter
- 75 g Nutella
- 3 tbsp softened butter
- 120g powdered sugar
Mixthe peanut butter, the Nutella, the powdered sugar and the butter into a paste. Take a pretzel stick and form a pine cone around it with this paste. You can then start decorating this cone shape with the cornflakes. Start with this at the bottom. Insert all the flakes into the paste in a row. For the next row above, tuck it in offset from the lower ones (i.e. always above and between two of the lower rows). Continue this way until you reach the top. You can also decorate the top third of the pine cone with smaller cornflakes (or broken ones), like you would with real cones.
Your first tenon is now finished. If the pretzel stick is still visible, you can cut off the tip with scissors. You can arrange all the cones on a plate together with other matching figures and use them to decorate the Christmas table, for example. Alsoas a cake decorationthe cute accessories are very suitable. Then dust the finished arrangement with additional powdered sugar, which should imitate snow.
Cornflakes made from chocolate and orange peel as a flavor
It's not just peanut butter that can be used to make the cone for the cones. Below we have another option that uses hazelnut cream and orange peel. The result is aaromatic dessert, which just screams Christmas. If you would like to make these pine cones out of cornflakes, proceed as follows:
- 160 g Haferkekse
- 100 g soft butter
- 100 g hazelnut cream/spread (also with chocolate)
- grated peel of an orange
- 200 g chocolate cornflakes
- powdered sugar
Crumble the cookies in a blender until powdery. Mix the butter with the hazelnut cream and lemon zest in a bowl and then stir in the biscuit powder. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for an hour so that the resulting paste can be better formed. Then divide the mixture into small pieces of around 240 g, which you first shape into balls and then into cones, preferably with gloves. Now decorate the cones with the cornflakes and dust them with powdered sugar to create a snow effect.
Sweet potato treats
Sweet combined with potato might sound a little unlikely. But it isthanks to sweet potatoesactually possible. So if you value a healthier dessert and would rather forego the creams from the other two recipes, choose this recipe that allows you to make pine cones with cornflakes. Japanese sweet potatoes are preferred because they have a light interior and are easier to color dark with cocoa later. For the cornflakes, it is best to choose those that are covered in chocolate, as they do not absorb the moisture from the potatoes and therefore remain crispy.
- Japanese sweet potatoes
- Cocoa powder
- Chocolate cornflakes
Peel and boil the potatoes first, drain them once they are cooked and mash them. Then add cocoa powder to the resulting puree until you get the desired browning. Now you can make the pine cones out of cornflakes and mixture. To do this, form cones from the puree by placing it in portions in a piece of cling film, wrapping it and shaping it. However, you first need to get the consistency right because most likely the sweet potato puree as it is is too dry. Gradually add butter and milk in small quantities and mix everything together well. Test the consistency and how easily the puree can be shaped before adding more if necessary.
Then you can create the cones with the cornflakes by starting with the bottom row and gradually working your way up. Each new row should be offset from the previous one. If the homemade mixture isn't sweet enough for you, you can also mix in powdered sugar. Arrange the cones on a plate, tray or under oneGlass bell as decoration.
