We start with a particularly simple and quick mask chain DIY that is particularly suitable for women and teenagers. Use a regular link chain in gold or silver, depending on your taste. In the example, the mask chain is gold. The size of the links can also vary. You can use a very thin chain for a more subtle accessory or achunkier versionfor a more casual look. You can make this mask chain in the following ways:
- Chain

- 2 Binderinge

- Wire cutters
- Lineal
And this is how you can make the mask chain yourself: Cut the chain to the desired length. For an adult, 50 should be enough. You can also test this by placing the chain around your neck and determining at what height you want the mask to hang. Cut the chain with wire cutters. Use the pliers to open the two binding rings, thread them first through the eyelet of the carabiner and then through the last links of the chain and close them again. The chain is ready! You can now easily attach the carabiners to the rubber bands of the face mask.
Mask chain for children with string and beads

The basis here is a simple string onto which the beads are then threaded. You will also need the following so that you can make a mask chain yourself:
- 2 carabiners
- 2 tubes
- cord
- 2 Binderinge
- Kneifzange
- optional large sewing needle
If you would like to make a mask chain yourself with a cord, you will need tubes that are open on one or both sides as an end closure. Cut the string to the desired length. Use the pliers to open a binding ring, thread it through the eyelet of the carabiner and close it again. Then thread one of the ends of the string through the tube and then through the jump ring. The end then has to go through the tube again. Now you can use the cordwith any beadsand other elements. If you are using a tube with an eyelet that is open on one side, insert the string into it and squeeze it with the pliers. Then you can attach the eyelet to the carabiner's binding ring and continue with the next steps.
Threading through the beads' holes can be made easier by threading the string through the eye of a needle and then inserting the needle and string through the beads. Once you have reached the other end, repeat the first steps and thread the cord through the tube, jump ring and tube again. You can then cut off the excess cord. If the thread is not firmly seated in the tube and slips, you can lightly compress the tube with the pliers.
Ribbon instead of chain
It doesn't necessarily have to be a chain if you want to make a mask chain yourself. A wide band may prove a little more comfortable, especially for children. All you need is oneany band, which should be as wide as possible so as not to constrict. You can then cut this band to size, briefly heat the ends with a lighter so that it does not unravel and then attach it to the mask in various ways:
- simply tie it with a knot on the elastic of the mask
- attach to a carabiner with a key ring - to do this, thread the ribbon through the ring and then stick it in place with super-strong glue or sew it with a sewing machine as desired
